we continue to do more landscaping.

Rich says we are done after these projects get completed. But it will be a great outdoor living space. And what a view, of course. Pictures include the back staircase, hot tub on existing patio, forms for the two patios going in on either side. I had to include a picture of the greening hill side above the house. The wild flowers are starting to bloom.

Andrew's done with phase 1

Three weeks into Army boot camp, phase 1 complete and I think he is still enjoying his decision. Heard from him last week and all was well.

April update

Way too much wind and rain. I want it to dry out, so I can begin my next phase of landscaping. This will include a sprinkler system and sod. We will also build stone steps on the east side of the house. Then, maybe I can sit back and enjoy! Haha. I am sure I will come up with another project or two. Soon, it will be time to plant the garden as well.

Visiting Nik in Ithaca, NY. Last theater production design in college.

These are pictures from L'Orfeo, a Greek tragedy done at Ithaca College while I was visiting. This was their spring opera and Nik was the scenic designer for the production. One picture shows a "chaise lounge in Hades", the other is the painted floor and finally the stage setting where the orchestra sat. Nik did an incredible job and this was his senior show. He graduates in May.

VERY COLD / NO SNOW

Well, the snow was melting fast with the warmer temps we were having. Now, we are in a blast of arctic air - single digits and teens. I'd like it to warm up a little and get some moisture in here. You know - THE WHITE STUFF! I want to ski on some new fluff.

Playing Tourist

My sister, Kathryn, and I went downtown Leavenworth today to play tourist. We had a great time wine tasting and visiting with the winery "people." We also tried out a new store in Leavenworth. It is a vinegar and oil tasting shop. The products are aged for 18 years and there are many, many flavor infused oils and vinegars. I had basic olive oil and a Pomegranite infused vinegar mix on my salad for dinner. It was awesome - of course, I love salads.

Sun Mountain Lodge

Rich and I spent the past 3 day weekend in Winthrop, Washington at Sun Mtn. Lodge. We took a sleigh ride and went sledding on Saturday. Sunday was my birthday and we took a snow shoe wilderness tour with some guides. It was lots of fun except for the continuous drizzle. Yes, it rained up there too. Once we got back to the room, we enjoyed cheese and crackers and wine. I drank Champagne to celebrate my day and ate some chocolate decadence cake. Then, I took a long bubble bath. I'm in that picture somewhere. See the champagne. At dinner that night, Rich had a caribou steak and said it was very good. A fun weekend.

Lots of SNOW

This is how much snow we had last week BEFORE the Pineapple Express blew through. This is me and Clarke. It has been cold, snowy, lots of skiing and snowshoeing. AH, winter in the Pacific NW. Then, the South Pacific decided to blow through and with it temps in the upper 40's and warmer winds. This week it is considerably colder and some snow expected. We need lots. The driveway is quite icy now, so we are using the rhino to travel up and down.
